Even though Adam Levine is leaving “The Voice,” Blake Shelton is still his “brother for life”
Trae Patton/NBCEven though Adam Levine is leaving The Voice, his bromance with Blake Shelton is destined to continue.
Host Carson Daly announced Friday morning on the Today show that Adam won’t return for season 17. Blake wasted no time tweeting he only learned the news Thursday, and the reality “hasn’t set in on me yet.”
Adam followed up with his own, lengthy post on Instagram a short time later, calling the singing competition a “life-shaping experience that will be close to my heart forever.”
He went on to express his deep affection for his former Voice rival from the country world.
“And, BLAKE F****** SHELTON. I couldn’t hide my love for you if I tried. Seriously. I tried,” Adam joked. “Can’t do it.”
“Our friendship is and always will be one for the books,” he continued. “Whatever this whole surreal experience was, I’m just happy I got to experience it with you. You’re my brother for life.”
While Blake may miss his bro next season, he’ll have his boo by his side for comfort: Gwen Stefani’s stepping into Adam’s spot.
