ABC/Image Group LA There’s arguably nobody in country music who’s having a better week right now than Lee Brice.

Not only is “Rumor” sitting at the top of the chart, but Lee’s also set to sing at the annual A Capitol Fourth concert Thursday in Washington, D.C. alongside Carole KingVanessa WilliamsColbie Caillat and her new country band Gone WestThe O’Jays, and more.

“We are so honored to be there at all,” Lee admits. “We know how big the celebration is. We know how awesome it’s gonna be.”

“Looking at all of the other names that are going to be there,” he adds, “it’s awesome to be on the same stage as some of these legends. So, we get to represent country music.”

The avid supporter of America’s military is also grateful for another chance to express his appreciation.

“All the people that protect and serve us — it’s a day to really thank them,” the South Carolina native reflects. “And that’s a really important part to me. That’s what makes me so humbled to be a part of that.”

The song Lee is going to sing is also apropos.

“‘American Nights’ is a special song,” Lee explains, “and it really fits for the celebration on the Fourth. And so we are just as excited as we possibly can be.”

You’ll find “American Nights” on Lee’s most recent album, which is his 2017 self-titled release.

You can tune in to watch Lee’s performance live from the West Lawn of the Capitol starting at 8 p.m. ET on PBS.
