Tonight will be the best night of the year to see Jupiter. The largest planet in the solar system will be directly opposite the Sun, making it appear bright enough to see clearly with binoculars. With a telescope, you might even be able to see Jupiter’s Giant Red Spot. Jupiter also makes its closest approach to Earth this year, making it appear larger. The gas giant will rise in the southeastern sky Monday night and stay there until dawn.
